I've often wondered: Why do the developers of infant toys spend millions of dollars on their products when babies clearly prefer ordinary objects?
I first asked this question back in 2009, when our eldest child was still a baby. Now, I'd like to finally settle the matter: Would a baby ever pick an age-appropriate toy over something that is not a toy (and possibly dangerous)?
The answer appears to be no.
Special thanks to Lulu for serving as our test case.
