Worst Baby Name Suggestion...Ever?

Hmm...If you're trying to name a baby, there are lots of sites to help you out. But some are better than others.

This one is, uh, probably one of the less-good ones. If you enter the name Felix, it suggests several alternatives: "Felatio Felice Felicia Felicity Felipe Felisbella."

Wait, what was that first one?

Here's another of those Web sites that lets you explore a city in virtual reality -- EveryScape.

This one
claims to let you actually go into buildings, which is cool. But it only features certain parts of San Francisco (along with Boston, Miami, Beverly Hills, Philadelphia and others).

One question: The pictures make it seems like they drove their camera down the street against traffic. How on Earth did they do this without killing people? Was a very low-flying helicopter involved?

Pregnancy Pictures!

This weekend my dad took some shots of Kelly's expanding waistline.

Here's the straight one:

And my tribute to Abu Ghraib:

A Resemblance?

Okay, so as you may have guessed from the previous post, we're having a baby boy — due Sept. 17.

He was very shy during the ultrasound, refusing to show his face. Or maybe...he was trying to resemble a certain painting?

Kelly Stricken by Parasite

I've hesitated to mention this on the blog, but really it's gone on too long to be ignored: An organism has attached itself to Kelly's insides.

Most shocking: After consulting medical doctors on Thursday, we've learned that the creature appears to have male genitalia!

Here's a picture.

BuboBlog Regrets Its Errors

In an earlier post, I insinuated that Haverford couldn't attract a real presidential candidate.

Well, it looks like Hillary Clinton visited the campus this week. She made a speech about how she was "really nice."

Apparently Haverford has obtained a lot of ferns since I was there:

How Not to Lie

I was shocked and saddened to learn that hip-hop star Akon lied about spending time in the slammer. He claimed to have served a four-and-a-half-year term, when actually he's never been to prison.

What I'm wondering: What was his plan here? I mean, I'm not especially famous, but I think a lot of people would notice if I disappeared for *four and a half years*! Conversely, if I told everyone I had been in prison for four and a half years, wouldn't someone say, "That's odd, since I don't remember you going anywhere."

This is why it's better to lie about stuff that's harder to document, such as, "I once drank four Big Gulps in a hour." That's gangsta!

I Swear, Officer...

...the hooker was dead when I found her!

Langton Street in the Hizzouse

Listen, I am waaay late in posting this, but here's a music video from Mistah F.A.B. on YouTube.

"Why should I care?" you ask? Well, most importantly, it features several shots of my very own street -- Langton Street! Specifically, the Mac Dre mural that's painted near the corner of Harrison.

Furthermore, it has a marionette and a sample from the "Ghostbusters" theme. If those things don't move you, well, then you aren't even ALIVE, friend.

Okay, something alarming has occurred.

I've always prided BuboBlog on being nearly impossible to find. If you didn't know the exact URL, good luck.

Well, something has changed. Now if you type BuboBlog into Google, the first link that comes up -- is this one! It's even ahead of that weird French blog.

Whoever has revealed the location of this blog...please come forward and submit yourself for punishment!!

Obama Visits Haverford, But Not Barack

So apparently Michelle Obama visited Haverford's campus.

I don't know which is more embarrassing:

(a) that our college couldn't attract an actual presidential candidate

...or (b) that one of our students didn't know when to use "historic" or "historical":

“When someone like her comes to campus, I want to be part of it—it’s historical,” says Scott Ness ’08.

'Fissure' Interview

The show "Good Morning Texas" interviewed the director of "Fissure" — along with one of the stars. There's a part at the end where the interviewer compliments the movie's writing. (Thanks!)

Check it out.

Well, looks like I didn't miss much by not being here for the torch rally -- since they changed the route at the last minute.

Funny that they opted to take Van Ness instead. If they were really smart, they would have gone down Sunset Boulevard. It's a nice wide street -- and 90 percent of San Franciscans have no idea where it is! (It helps that it has the same name as a slightly more famous street in Los Angeles.)

Missing Out

I'm in Atlanta this week, which means I'm going to miss the big Olympic torch relay tomorrow.

I'm pretty upset because the course passes right by my office -- twice! It sounds like there's going to be riots, burning cars, cats and dogs living together.

As a semi-professional looky-lou, this could have been one of my biggest opportunities ever!!
